Silver Appleyard Ducks
The Silver Appleyard Ducks have their origin in England and are an energetic breed of ducks. They are slightly upright in appearance. In comparison to the standard breeds of ducks this race is a bit heavier in weight. The drakes weigh about 8-9 pounds and the ducks weigh around 7-8 pounds. The drakes are green headed with silvery white body covering. The breast region is a bit reddish and brown marks are found over the rest of the body. A thick white collar encircles the whole of the neck region of the drakes. The ducks are either white or creamy brown in color. The Silver Appleyard Ducks lay about 120-150 eggs per year and thus considered as a first-class layer. These ducks are reared for its eggs and meat. Both the drakes and the ducks have a medium length bill. The temperament of this breed is good but they always remain aware and ready to act. They prefer to stroll around in the entire farmland.
