Silky Ducks

The Silky Ducks were produced as a result of cross-breed technique. These ducks are called silky because of their smooth and glossy body feathering. These ducks are either grayish black or white in color. Sometimes the black varieties of these ducks are found to be green headed. The white ducks have orange bill and legs. The Silky Ducks are much lighter in weight than the other breeds of ducks. Like the drakes weigh around 2-2.5 pounds and the ducks weigh around 1-2 pounds. This breed of ducks cannot fly but can easily avail their food out of the mollusks and snails found in the pond water. Plus they can be also fed with grain. The Silky Ducks are found to move in pairs or groups but they also like to roam single. As soon as the ducklings come out of their eggs these ducks are found to take adequate care of their babies until they become mature.
