Runner Ducks
The runner ducks have their origin in the islands of Bali and some of the places of the Indian subcontinent and so a part of this breed is referred as Indian Runner Ducks. They are called runners because they are seldom found to sit idle in a particular place. They either swim or run about in the entire compound of the poultry and farmlands. They are much taller and have a longer neck than other breeds of ducks. The Runner ducks are available in many colors. There are either found in white and also in black. But still the brownish white or grey varieties are also common. They have long and flat bills which are orange or grey in color. The drakes of this breed weigh around 5 pounds and the ducks weigh about 3-4 pounds. These ducks are reared mainly for exhibition purpose and also for their eggs. They lay about 150-200 eggs per year and the color of their eggs are blue.
