Muscovy Ducks

The Muscovy Ducks are some of the most interesting breed of ducks. They have their origin in South America and are much energetic in nature. The Muscovy ducks are generally black in color but have red patches around the eyes and bill region. This makes them easier to distinguish from other breeds. Often white plumage is also found in some breeds. This breed is a bit heavier in weight than the other breeds. Like a drake weighs about 10-12 pounds while the ducks weigh about 8-10 pounds. There are some wild Muscovy Ducks that are present which has weight even higher than this value. Another feature of this breed is that they can fly up to a certain height. Thus these ducks are often found on tree branches like any other birds. Muscovy Ducks are reared both for meat and also for eggs but the meat is generally preferred more than the eggs. They can remain in single and can also in pairs.
