Magpie Ducks
Magpie Ducks are categorized as one of the most utility birds since it is used both for meat and also for eggs. But Magpies are also used for exhibition purposes because these ducks possess a good appearance. Generally they are either creamy white or completely white. The black and white varieties are also available. They have their origin in Wales. They are short billed and the color of both the bill and legs are orange or yellow. In some variants the bill is grey colored. Magpies are comparatively taller than the other breeds of ducks. The males generally weigh about 6-7 pounds whereas the females weigh about 5-6 pounds. Magpie ducks lay about 150-180 eggs every year and the color of the eggs are greenish blue. This breed of ducks can breed properly and are found in groups. They prefer both land and pond water to stay. Magpie ducks are considered as excellent foragers and like to hunt for slugs, worms and snails in the pond water.
