Coast Ducks
Coast Ducks is a breed from Sweden. These types of ducks are a bit rare in modern poultries of today. But still there is a demand for this breed of ducks because their temperament if good and can be fed only with grain. Also they like to hunt for worms and snails from the pond waters. Found mainly to move single or in pairs these ducks are similar to the mallard ducks. It is a matter of fact that one finds hard to distinguish it with a Mallard duck because of the similarity of their body color with them; which is chocolate brown or combination of white and green. Plumage consists of brown or grey feathers. They have a short but pointed bill. The drakes of these breed weigh 6-7 pounds while the females weight 5-6.5 pounds. The only problem with the Coast ducks is that only a few specific females lay eggs because defects are often found in this breed.
