Campbell Ducks
The Campbell Ducks owe their origin in England and are of three variants namely; Khaki, White and Dark Campbell’s. The Khaki Campbell is brownish yellow or faded green in color with greenish bill. The White Campbell is covered with white body feathers with a yellowish orange bill and Dark varieties are dark brown or dark grey colored with a whitish grey bill. Although of different varieties the Campbell Ducks have the similar weights. The drakes weigh about 4-5 pounds whereas the ducks weigh about 3-4 pounds. These ducks are mainly nurtured for meat and eggs whereas the white varieties are also kept for exhibition purpose. The Campbell ducks lay about 300-350 eggs in average every year which are white in color. These ducks often exhibit good temperament than the other varieties of ducks. These ducks also brought up in many homes so that they keep the nearby ponds free from snails and maggots. They also have a much affinity for swimming.
