Buff Ducks

The Buff ducks also known as the Buff Orpingtons has originated in England in the early 19th century. Today they are much common in UK and also in the United States. These ducks are long billed which is yellow in color and their legs are faded yellow colored. Body color is chocolate white with long white plumage. This is the only characteristic color found in these breeds in all the countries. The males of this breed of ducks weighs around 5-6 pounds and the females weigh about 4-5.5 pounds. The Buff Ducks lay about 150-190 eggs a year and the color of the eggs are white. They are dual purpose breeds, i.e. consumed both for meat and eggs. The ducklings are either brownish white or chocolate colored and take a bit of time to mature. The main traits of these ducks are that they generally stay in groups and like both swimming and also to stay on land.
